Our Policies

Cheateau Lake Logan is the brand-new four suite vacation destination.  
​We are happy to welcome you and share our "little piece of paradise" with you.  
Come as a guests, leave as friends!  
  1. 2 - 4 Adults ONLY.   Must be at least 25 years of age.
  2. NO PETS /  NO CHILDREN (infants accepted)
  3. Photo ID at check in and a copy for the records will be taken.
  4. 50% payment is required when reservation is made.  Credit Card information will be kept on file and the card will be charged for any theft or damage caused by the guest.  
  5. No refunds are given within 30 days of the reserved days.  Reservation may be moved to a weekend in the future under certain circumstances and only with the owner’s approval.  Inside of 14 days no changing weekends will be considered.   Refunds given outside of the 30 days will be refunded less $150 cancellation fee.  No refunds given if a guest is required to vacate the premises because of disruptive conduct or failure to follow our rental policies.
  6. We reserve the right to refuse any reservation.
  7. Check in 4 PM  - if available, early check in will incur a fee.
  8. Check out 11 AM - if available, late check out will incur a fee. 
  9. ​Absolutely NO VISITORS.  Only the guests that are registered may be on the property or in the Suite, Loft or Cottage.  
  10. If you smoke inside, the charge will be $450 UP.  Please limit smoking to the outside only on the deck.  No smoking anywhere else on the property.  Dispose of butts and ashes properly. 
  11. Bugs - We do professionally exterminate our properties, but they are not bug proof.  Please remember that you are in the woods and we have invaded the woodland creatures’ habitat and you will see bugs, spiders and mice occasionally. No refunds issued for insects or mice found inside.  
  12. No refunds will be issued for disruptions of any utilities including, but not limited to, power outages, water outages, etc. These failures are beyond our control.  Please report inoperative equipment to us and we will make every effort to have repairs done as quickly as possible during reasonable hours. Speed of service cannot be guaranteed.
  13. Guests agree to hold 5 Star Lodging, LLC and the owners harmless from any accident or injury whatsoever, which may occur in or on the property or on the lake using the available kayaks, during their occupancy or visit. 
  14. Your verbal authorization at time of reservation, making an online reservation, payment of money and/or taking possession of the property is evidence of your acceptance of our policies and your intent to use the property as a vacation rental. Failure to follow our policies will result in being ask to leave without a refund.

  16. Fire Extinguisher – Under the Kitchen Sink
  17. NO SMOKING anywhere on the property with the exception of your deck if you use a proper ashtray and DO NOT flick ashes or drop the butts over the deck.  Rub out only in the ash tray provided, NOT on any surface other than the ashtray please.  If you smoke in the Suite, the charge will be $450 UP. 
  18. Bedspread – Please remove it, fold it and place it in the back of the closet with the pillow shams.  You may choose from the several pillows in the closet for your comfort.  There are extra blankets.  Please leave out whatever you use so that we may launder them.
  19. Glass top or Induction Stove Top – Please be careful of the glass top and “PLACE” pans on the surface – DO NOT slide them on the surface.  The unit power must be turned on before the individual burners are turned on.  There is a toaster, but not an oven. Please do not set any HOT pans on the granite tops.
  20. Shower – Please wipe up any water that makes its way to the floor.
  21. Toilet and Septic – Please flush early and often to prevent problems, and DO NOT flush anything but toilet paper-this includes any feminine hygiene products.
  22. Wood Floors – Please wipe up any water or ice pieces that end up on the floor to protect it from damage.
  23. Ice in the freezer may be used for your cooler.  You may use the jugs of ice for your cooler, but please wash the container outside and refreeze.  You may remove the white plastic containers of water if you need more room in the refrigerator.  Please set them outside on the deck.  Wash off the outside and place back in the refrigerator before checking out. 
  24. Combination push button door lock – the code will be provided.
  25. Internet – Password is - will be provided
  26. Netflix and Amazon are available on the TV as well as cable TV. 
  27. Kayaks (8) & Canoes– see the map provided for location.   We have life jackets available-please use them.  
  28. Fire Ring –Wood and a started log is supplied at the fire ring.  
  29. Outside – We have cleaned the decks and chairs before your arrival.  Nature has a way of getting everything dirty very quickly in the great outdoors.  You may need to wipe off the chair seats before sitting in them.  There are cleaning rags and a small bucket under the kitchen sink-use a small amount of dishwashing liquid.  
  30. Supplies – Feel free to use the supplies, but please don’t take them with you-such as toilet paper, bath soap etc. If at any time you need something or a supply runs out, please purchase at Walmart or Krogers about 3 miles away. 
  31. Lights – please shut them off when you are gone.  
  32. Temperature Control – Please adjust so that you are comfortable.  The heating/cooling system responds very quickly so it is reasonable that you can turn down the power/fuel usage while you are out for the day.  Please use all resources effectively and conservatively.
  33. Shoes – If you wear shoes inside, please be sure that they are clean and dry or just wear socks. Thank you for helping to keep everything clean and undamaged.
  34. Wild Life – We have a variety of wild animals that wander through the property.  I hope you will enjoy the sightings.
  35. The Property consists of more than 5 acres.  Please use the map provide in your suite and feel free to roam on our property and the state property.  Please be mindful of the private property that is well marked on the map and do not disturb their privacy.
  36. Clean up - We will appreciate it if you will clean up after yourselves and leave the Suite in the same condition that you found it. We do not provide maid service. Please run the dishwasher.  Dishes do not need to be put away, only left clean in the dishwasher.  
  37. Linens – All of our linens are laundered using the sanitizing cycle with very HOT water.  This includes the mattress pad.  Place used towels/wash cloths in the laundry basket in the bath closet.  Leave other linens on the bed for us to take care of.  Thank you. 
  38. Damages – If you damage something or it is damaged when you arrive, please be sure to notify us immediately. 
  39. Furniture – Please do not move any of the furniture or the display items.  
  40. Restaurants – We recommend:
    1. Millstone BBQ - 2 miles (outside seating) across the lake close to the Holiday Inn. 
    2. Cedar Inn – 10 miles, just before you get to Cedar Falls.  Lunch 11:30 to 1:30 Dinner by reservation.  (outside seating)
    3. Old Man’s Cave Lodge – 12 miles.  Lunch and Dinner
    4. La Cascada Mexican – 2 miles, across from the Millstone and Holiday Inn.  (outside seating)
    5. Pizza Crossing – 4 miles, downtown or delivery – Menu is provided
    6. ​Glenn Laurel restaurant - reservations and dress code required

  43. Acorns will hit the metal roof in the fall and occasionally a branch may break free from the tree and crash onto the roof.  This usually sounds much worse than it is.  The rain on the roof is a lovely and soft sound and we hope you will enjoy it if rain should come while you are here.
  44. Life Jackets & Water Shoes – I have several you may use in various sizes, but if you require a perfect fit, you may want to bring your own gear.    You agree that use any of our gear at your own risk, including but not limited to, the kayaks, the canoes, water shoes, life jackets.
  45. We reserve the right to refuse any reservation.​

  47. Failure to follow our policies will result in being ask to leave without a refund.  No refunds are given if a guest is required to vacate the premises because of disruptive conduct or failure to follow our rental policies.
